AL VIA IL REFITTING DI MSC MAGNIFICA PRESSO IL CANTIERE NAVALE DI MALTA
- L’ammodernamento di MSC Magnifica è ufficialmente iniziato con l’ingresso della nave in bacino di carenaggio presso il cantiere Palumbo Malta Shipyard
- La nave è una delle due unità della Classe Musica che riceveranno importanti interventi di rinnovamento presso il cantiere maltese, tra cui l’introduzione del MSC Yacht Club e il restyling di diverse aree a bordo
- L’altra nave, MSC Poesia, entrerà in bacino di carenaggio a febbraio e sarà completata in tempo per il debutto in Alaska a maggio 2026.
Ginevra, Svizzera – 31 ottobre 2025 – MSC Crociere annuncia che sono iniziati i lavori di ammodernamento di MSC Magnifica, segnando di fatto l’avvio di un ampio programma di potenziamento che sottolinea il costante impegno della Compagnia nel migliorare l’esperienza degli ospiti a bordo delle navi della propria flotta.
MSC Magnifica, in servizio dal 2010, è la prima delle due navi della Classe Musica a entrare in bacino di carenaggio presso il cantiere Palumbo Malta Shipyard a Malta per gli interventi di refitting.
La nave verrà dotata di MSC Yacht Club con 63 nuove suite, due nuovi ristoranti tematici— Butcher’s Cut e Kaito Sushi Bar — oltre a una MSC Aurea Spa e a un centro fitness Technogym® potenziati e tante altre novità che renderanno l’esperienza in nave davvero unica.
Il completamento dei lavori è previsto per dicembre, con l’esperienza esclusiva dell’MSC Yacht Club disponibile dall’estate 2026, quando MSC Magnifica navigherà in Nord Europa.

Anche MSC Poesia, nave gemella di MSC Magnifica, entrerà in bacino di carenaggio presso lo stesso cantiere nel febbraio 2026 per un intervento di refitting che prevede l’introduzione dell’MSC Yacht Club, con 69 suite, e dell’All-Stars Sports Bar, oltre ai medesimi ristoranti tematici e agli interventi di miglioramento delle aree fitness e della MSC Aurea Spa già previsti per MSC Magnifica. La nave rientrerà in flotta in tempo per il debutto in Alaska, previsto per maggio 2026.
Questi ammodernamenti sono in linea con l’impegno di MSC Crociere nel migliorare l’esperienza degli ospiti su tutta la flotta, garantendo che sia MSC Magnifica sia MSC Poesia continuino a offrire servizi moderni e di alta qualità. Si tratta dei più ampi progetti di aggiornamento e refitting realizzati dalla compagnia nell’ultimo decennio, interamente progettati e gestiti internamente dal Dipartimento Tecnico di MSC Crociere.
Il Palumbo Malta Shipyard rappresenta un hub strategico per la manutenzione della flotta di MSC Crociere e per i progetti di ristrutturazione di alta qualità delle navi in Europa.
MSC Magnifica salperà da Warnemünde, Germania, il 16 maggio 2026 verso il Nord Europa, toccando Danimarca, Paesi Baltici, Scandinavia e Finlandia, per poi offrire, nella seconda parte dell’anno, crociere nel Mediterraneo da 3 a 8 notti verso porti tra cui Barcellona, Civitavecchia (Roma) e Marsiglia. Successivamente, la nave partirà per il Giro del Mondo del 2027, dove il MSC Yacht Club farà il suo debutto in questo viaggio di 121 notti, visitando 45 spettacolari destinazioni in 25 Paesi.
MSC Poesia offrirà crociere di 7 notti da Seattle da maggio a settembre 2026, per poi proporre, nella stagione invernale 2026/2027, itinerari di andata e ritorno da Miami verso i Caraibi, con scali in Giamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Aruba, Curaçao e Belize.

MAJOR REFURBISHMENT OF MSC MAGNIFICA BEGINS IN MALTA SHIPYARD
- Refurbishment of MSC Magnifica has officially begun with ship entering dry dock at Palumbo Malta Shipyard in Malta
- The ship is one of two Musica Class ships receiving major enhancements, including the installation of MSC Yacht Club and additional venue enhancements at the Maltese shipyard
- The other ship, MSC Poesia, is scheduled to enter dry dock in February and be completed in time for its debut in Alaska in May 2026
Geneva, Switzerland – October 29, 2025 – Work has begun on the upgrade of MSC Cruises’ MSC Magnifica, marking the start of an extensive enhancement program that underscores the cruise line’s ongoing investment in enhancing the guest experience across its fleet.
MSC Magnifica has been in service since 2010 and is the first of two Musica Class ships due to enter dry dock at Palumbo Malta Shipyard in Malta.
When the refurbishments are complete, MSC Magnifica will include an MSC Yacht Club on board with 63 suites, two new specialty dining venues—Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar—along with an enhanced MSC Aurea Spa and Technogym® Fitness Center complete with Gentleman’s Barber, various workout studios, and outdoor Aurea area.
The work is expected to be completed in December 2025, with the full MSC Yacht Club experience available starting Summer 2026 when MSC Magnifica sails Northern Europe itineraries.

Sister ship MSC Poesia will enter dry dock at the same shipyard in February 2026 to receive her upgrades, which include the addition of the MSC Yacht Club with 69 suites and an All-Stars Sports Bar, as well as the same specialty restaurant, gym and spa upgrades coming to MSC Magnifica. Refurbishments on MSC Poesia are expected to be ready in time to rejoin the fleet for her Alaska debut in May 2026.
These enhancements align with MSC Cruises’ commitment to enhancing guest experiences across its fleet, ensuring that both MSC Magnifica and MSC Poesia continue to offer modern amenities and high-quality services to guests. The program represent the most extensive upgrade and refitting project undertaken by MSC Cruises in the last decade, fully designed and managed in-house by MSC Cruises’ Technical Department.
Palumbo Malta Shipyard is a strategic hub for MSC Cruises’ fleet maintenance and high-quality refurbishing projects for ships in Europe.
MSC Magnifica will set sail from Warnemünde, Germany on May 16, 2026 to Northern Europe, visiting Denmark, the Baltics, Scandinavia and Finland, before offering 3-to 8-night Mediterranean departures later in the year to ports including Barcelona, Civitavecchia for Rome, and Marseille. She will then embark on the 2027 MSC World Cruise, where the MSC Yacht Club will make its debut on the 121-night journey, visiting 45 spectacular destinations across 25 countries.
MSC Poesia will offer 7-night sailings from Seattle to Alaska, May through September 2026, before offering guests round trip sailings from Miami to the Caribbean, including Jamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Aruba, Curaçao, and Belize, during Winter 2026 – 2027.
