Silversea Kicks Off 2026/2027 Antarctica Season, Offering a Preview of Its New Hotel, the Cormorant at 55 South
Three of Silversea’s expedition ships will operate six- to 21-night voyages through March 2027, with the Southernmost Hotel on Earth now part of the Antarctica Fly Cruise program

MIAMI – October 20, 2026 – Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has kicked off its 2026/2027 Antarctica season with the first departures of Silver Endeavour from King George Island and Silver Wind from Puerto Williams, Chile. Through March 2027, Silver Endeavour, Silver Wind, and Silver Cloud will operate 40 voyages, including 29 Antarctica Fly Cruise voyages, each featuring a stay at The Cormorant at 55 South. The season’s itineraries range from six to 21 nights and extend beyond the Antarctic Peninsula to South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.
“Antarctica is central to Silversea’s expedition program, and this season gives guests even greater choice in how they reach it,” said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. “Some will explore the Falkland Islands and South Georgia in the footsteps of famed explorers, before continuing to the Antarctic Peninsula, while others will opt for our innovative Antarctica Fly Cruise program, now enhanced by the unveiling of The Cormorant at 55 South, which welcomes its first guests this season. The Cormorant will create a uniquely seamless journey to Antarctica, opening up a part of the world that is often difficult to explore, yet has so much to offer. We can’t wait to welcome guests to discover it at the Southernmost Hotel on Earth.”
29 ANTARCTICA FLY CRUISE SAILINGS ROUNDTRIP FROM KING GEORGE ISLAND
The 2026/2027 Antarctica season will offer 29 Antarctica Fly Cruise itineraries with fourteen sailings onboard Silver Endeavour, flying guests over the Drake Passage in both directions, from the Antarctic Sound to the Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands. Fifteen one-way sailings aboard Silver Wind, Silver Cloud, and Silver Endeavour will pair a flight with a crossing of the Drake Passage by ship, southbound on some departures and northbound on others. Charter flights, expedition experiences, and Zodiac outings are included on every sailing.
BEYOND THE PENINSULA: SOUTH GEORGIA, THE FALKLANDS, AND THE ANTARCTIC CIRCLE
Eleven voyages will take guests across the Drake Passage by sea in both directions, sailing from Puerto Williams. Highlight itineraries include:
- From the Falklands to the Peninsula: Silver Wind’s 18-night roundtrip from Puerto Williams, departing November 7, will call at West Point Island, Saunders Island, and Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands before continuing to South Georgia, cruising past Elephant Island, and reaching the Antarctic Peninsula.
- South Georgia and Elephant Island: Silver Cloud will operate four 15-night voyages combining South Georgia, Elephant Island, and the Peninsula, with its first departing on November 9.
- South of the Antarctic Circle: Guests on Silver Cloud’s 12-night roundtrip from Puerto Williams, departing December 9, will be able to experience a day south of the Antarctic Circle.
- Holidays in the South: Guests on Silver Wind’s 15-night holiday cruise will depart from Puerto Williams on December 22 to enjoy the Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia.
- Antarctica to Buenos Aires: Silver Endeavour is performing a 21-night voyage departing March 4, 2027 – the season’s longest and its only sailing to end in Buenos Aires. Silver Endeavour will sail from Puerto Williams to the Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia, then call at Carcass Island, West Point Island, and Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands, and at Puerto Madryn, Argentina.
THE CORMORANT AT 55 SOUTH: A NEW GATEWAY IN PUERTO WILLIAMS, CHILE
The Cormorant at 55 South is central to the Antarctica Fly Cruise program in its inaugural season. Every Antarctica Fly Cruise sailing will include a stay in Puerto Williams, supported by Silversea-branded charter flights from Santiago, equipped with comfortable seating, a three-course meal, and Silversea’s signature service. The private charter offers the only direct flight connecting Chile’s capital with Puerto Williams.
Silversea’s Expedition Experts, the same specialists who guide the brand’s Antarctic voyages, will also be on permanent rotation at the hotel. Activities include kayaking on the Beagle Channel, guided hikes on Navarino Island led by naturalists and birding specialists, and horseback excursions led by a Patagonian baqueano, a local wilderness guide. The hotel’s main restaurant, Latitude 55, will serve family-style dining built around Patagonian flavors, and Bar Sur will offer Chilean wines and cocktails made with local ingredients.
Silversea will hold the official grand opening of The Cormorant at 55 South on November 5, 2026, with guests on earlier voyages enjoying an early preview.
