AIDA continua il programma di modernizzazione: altre quattro navi entrano in cantiere
A febbraio 2025 è iniziato il più grande programma di rinnovamento della flotta nella storia di AIDA, nell’ambito dell’iniziativa AIDA Evolution. AIDAdiva è stata la prima nave ad essere completamente modernizzata presso il cantiere navale Chantier Naval di Marsiglia, in Francia, e ad essere ampliata con nuove funzionalità.
AIDA continues modernization program: Four more ships go into the shipyard

In February 2025, the largest fleet renewal program in AIDA’s history began as part of the AIDA Evolution future initiative. AIDAdiva was the first to be comprehensively modernized at the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille, France, and expanded with new highlights. Guests can now expect even more vacation variety, service, and comfort on board. AIDAluna will complete her shipyard period from October 22 to December 10, 2025, followed by AIDAbella from January 21 to March 11, 2026.
AIDA Cruises continues to modernize its fleet and has now announced that the other four ships in this series will also be comprehensively modernized by 2028. The shipyard periods for AIDAblu, AIDAsol, AIDAmar, and AIDAstella are scheduled for spring and fall of the coming years, respectively.
“We are investing a high three-digit million amount in this ship class. This reaffirms our long-term commitment to our popular smaller ships. With the modernization, we are bringing both guest comfort and technology up to date, making this ship generation fit for the next 20 years,” explains Felix Eichhorn, President of AIDA Cruises.
AIDA Cruises is using the redesign of all ships in this series as an opportunity to give them even more of the character of a ship family. This is why this series will be renamed AIDAselection in the future. The focus of the concept is family togetherness and encounters on land and on board. The innovative design of the ships, with around 1,100 cabins, creates a cozy atmosphere. The numerous outdoor areas and large windows ensure proximity to the sea. The central theatrium, the pool deck above, and the open spatial structures are typical of this generation of ships. With the AIDAselection ships, AIDA Cruises offers a diverse selection of itineraries – from short trips to exotic destinations to world tours. On special highlight routes, guests can experience things like the cherry blossoms in Japan, celebrate Carnival in Rio, or encounter the Northern Lights in the far north. Due to the ships’ compact size, smaller ports of call can also be reached.
As part of the AIDA Evolution future initiative, AIDA Cruises is bundling all key projects for the further development and responsible expansion of the AIDA fleet in the coming years. In addition to the modernization of the existing fleet, this includes a billion-euro investment in two new ships of a next generation. The identical ships will be built by the Fincantieri shipyards in Italy, with commissioning scheduled for spring 2030 and winter 2031/2032. This will bring the AIDA fleet to 13 ships.

Im Februar 2025 ist im Rahmen der Zukunftsinitiative AIDA Evolution das größte Flottenerneuerungsprogramm in der AIDA Geschichte gestartet. Als erstes wurde AIDAdiva in der Werft Chantier Naval im französischen Marseille umfassend modernisiert und um neue Highlights erweitert. An Bord erwartet Gäste nun noch mehr Urlaubsvielfalt, Service und Komfort. AIDAluna wird vom 22. Oktober bis 10. Dezember 2025 ihre Werftzeit absolvieren, AIDAbella folgt vom 21. Januar bis 11. März 2026.
AIDA Cruises treibt die Modernisierung seiner Flotte weiter voran und gibt nun bekannt, dass die weiteren vier Schiffe dieser Baureihe ebenfalls bis 2028 umfassend modernisiert werden. Die Werftzeiten für AIDAblu, AIDAsol, AIDAmar und AIDAstella sind jeweils im Frühjahr bzw. Herbst der kommenden Jahre vorgesehen.

Die Neugestaltung aller Schiffe dieser Baureihe nimmt AIDA Cruises zum Anlass, ihnen noch mehr den Charakter einer Schiffsfamilie zu geben. Deshalb trägt diese Baureihe künftig den Namen AIDAselection. Im Fokus des Konzepts steht das familiäre Miteinander und die Begegnungen an Land und an Bord. Die innovative Bauweise der Schiffe mit rund 1.100 Kabinen schafft eine behagliche Atmosphäre. Die vielen Außenbereiche und großen Fensterfronten sorgen für die Nähe zum Meer. Das zentrale Theatrium, das darüberliegende Pooldeck und die offenen Raumstrukturen sind typisch für diese Schiffsgeneration. Mit den AIDAselection Schiffen bietet AIDA Cruises eine vielfältige Routenauswahl – von Kurzreisen über exotische Fernwehziele bis zur Weltreise. Auf besonderen Highlight-Routen erleben Gäste z. B. die Kirschblüte in Japan, feiern Karneval in Rio oder begegnen Polarlichtern im hohen Norden. Aufgrund der kompakten Schiffsgröße können auch kleinere Häfen angelaufen werden.
Im Rahmen der Zukunftsinitiative AIDA Evolution bündelt AIDA Cruises alle wichtigen Projekte zur Weiterentwicklung und verantwortungsvollen Erweiterung der AIDA Flotte in den kommenden Jahren. Dazu zählt neben der Modernisierung der bestehenden Flotte auch eine Milliardeninvestition in zwei Schiffsneubauten einer neuen Generation. Die baugleichen Schiffe werden durch die Fincantieri-Werften in Italien gefertigt, die Indienststellung ist für Frühjahr 2030 und Winter 2031/2032 geplant. Damit wächst die AIDA Flotte auf 13 Schiffe.
