Over one hundred elected officials, civic leaders, arts professionals, cultural visionaries, and artists convened at the largest cruise terminal in North America to celebrate the 7 art installations and the visionary artists behind the MSC Group Cruise Division’s ambitious art program.

Miami — December 4, 2025 — On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, MSC Group’s Cruise Division, in collaboration with the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs’ Art in Public Places program, marked a major public art milestone with Art After Dark: Panel Discussion & Artist Reception, a celebratory evening of dialogue, art tours, and community gathering at the new MSC Miami Cruise Terminal at PortMiami.

Upon arrival at the cruise terminal, guests were ushered through a luminous breezeway into the ambient, after-hours atmosphere. Projected from the monumental monitors at the terminal entrance, a variation of Maris, Danielle Roney’s oceanic generative animation beckoned guests into the grand Lobby, where they were then greeted by Lauren Shapiro’s Collected Forms ceramic frieze that hugs the two inner berths. Guests then proceeded to the elevator vestibule, where they experienced the layered Conference of Birds series by Tamara Kostianovsky, before making their way up to the VIP Lounge. Guests admired the newly installed Melting Pot by Hugh Hayden, and the poetic quilts (Blooming Flowers 1-3 & Clear Skies 1-3) by Mark Fleuridor before being invited to find their seats for the introductory remarks from MSC Cruises’ leadership and elected officials prior to the panel.

Rubén Rodríguez, CEO of MSC Group’s North America Cruise Division, commented: “We take pride in the MSC Miami Cruise Terminal, a modern architectural gateway designed not only to transform the travel experience for guests from around the world, but also to inspire them from the moment they arrive. Through our collaboration with the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs’ Art in Public Places Program and PortMiami, we have ensured that the terminal sets new global standards in innovation while also championing creativity, environmental reflection, and meaningful cultural dialogue through public art.”

Danielle Levine Cava, Miami-Dade County Mayor, shared: “PortMiami’s growth is driven by people coming together with purpose. Real success happens when we build authentic partnerships. MSC Cruises and my administration share a deep commitment to protecting our oceans, safeguarding our planet for future generations, and elevating the cultural fabric of our community. This collaboration is a testament to the power of true partnership and exemplifies how public-private partnerships can enrich our lives through meaningful, inspiring public art.”
