Mein Schiff presents first glimpses of the unique outdoor areas of the new building
07/07/2023 – The eighth ship in the Mein Schiff fleet, the first in a new ship class, promises guests to “experience well-being in a new way!” In addition to a wide range of new pleasure and well-being offers, regular guests and many new cruise fans can meet on board the new, German-speaking ship, can also look forward to a particularly large amount of freedom.
The eighth ship has many surprises in store: guests can experience a new sense of space on the new building, for example through the extensive, connected outer decks. The new, iconic roof over parts of the 25 meter pool and the sunbathing areas can already be seen from afar. This architecturally spectacular roof, which thanks to its structure like a wickerwork also offers airy shade for individual relaxation areas, is modeled on a grotto through which the light falls onto the water. Parts of the jogging track are also integrated into this outdoor area.
Guests can enjoy even more freedom and find their personal favorite spot towards the stern, where a terraced sun-landscape leads up to the additional infinity pool, where the glittering blue of the water seems to merge into the sky. Here the guests have a view over the ship and the sea.
“This project is also something very special for us,” says Björn Asmussen, architect at 3Deluxe, who helped design this highlight. “ On the eighth ship, guests can experience open space in a new way. There will be various wonderful places where you can relax and enjoy the view of the sea. The iconic roof, which seems like a light-flooded grotto, will not only be visible from afar, it also offers guests a very special retreat. A unique place that probably doesn’t exist on any other ship.”
