Mein Schiff 7 meets Mein Schiff 1 in Kiel Fjord

Mein Schiff 7 calls at Kiel for the first time: Warm welcome from Mein Schiff 1
Kiel harbor is the base port for the first departures of the new feel-good ship

Hamburg/Kiel June 12, 2024. When the big sister welcomes the little one on her first call in Kiel, it is a very special goosebumps moment for guests and crew. Today, the Mein Schiff 7 moored in Kiel for the first time after being officially taken over by TUI Cruises on Monday at the Meyer Turku shipyard. Shortly before entering the Kiel Fjord, she was received by the Mein Schiff 1. The Mein Schiff 1 started its 12-day Baltic Sea trip in Kiel.

“A special day in Kiel with the first call of the new Mein Schiff 7 – and a flying change of two TUI Cruises ships on the fjord. We are delighted that the PORT OF KIEL is the first port that TUI Cruises’ newest ship from the shipyard in Turku will call at,” says Dr. Dirk Claus, CEO of the PORT OF KIEL. The Mein Schiff 7 will call at the Schleswig-Holstein state capital eight and eleven times this season and the coming season respectively. “It is always a wonderful experience to enter the port through the Kiel Fjord. And with a new ship, like today, it is even more of a goosebump moment,” says Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises. The PORT OF KIEL has been a permanent port of the TUI Cruises fleet for more than 15 years. The ships of the feel-good fleet have called at the Baltic port more than 300 times in recent years.

The Mein Schiff 7 is an identical sister ship to the Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2, which were put into service by the Hamburg shipping company in 2018 and 2019. The newest member of the feel-good fleet will set off late Wednesday evening on its first trial trip with guests on board towards Aarhus. The Mein Schiff 7 will be christened as part of a christening trip on June 22, 2024 in the Kiel Fjord.
