AIDA Cruises is expanding its long-haul cruise offerings with an exceptional combination of Caribbean flair, the cultural highlights of the American South, and the metropolises of the American East Coast. In spring 2028, the return voyage from the Caribbean winter cruising area to the Northern Europe summer cruising area will, for the first time, sail along the US coast and through the Gulf of Mexico to Kiel. Two new 18-day cruises aboard AIDAluna will combine some of North America’s most fascinating destinations with impressive natural experiences and relaxing days at sea.
On April 22, 2028, AIDAluna departs from La Romana (Dominican Republic) for New York. Highlights include Jamaica, Key West, and multi-day stays in New Orleans, Tampa, and Miami. New Orleans captivates with its unique blend of jazz, Creole culture, and historic architecture. A special experience is the passage on the Mississippi River, past vast delta landscapes, historic plantations, and the natural riverbanks of Louisiana. Tampa delights with its relaxed atmosphere on Florida’s Gulf Coast and diverse cultural influences. In Key West, guests can expect Caribbean flair with colorful wooden houses, a vibrant historic center, and the southernmost point of the continental United States. Miami beckons with South Beach, Art Deco architecture, and an international lifestyle, before the journey concludes in the metropolis of New York, where iconic landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and the world-famous skyline await.
Immediately following this, AIDAluna will set sail from New York to Kiel on May 10, 2028. This marks the first time an AIDA cruise will travel along the American East Coast in the spring, continuing on to Iceland via Denmark and finally to Germany. AIDAluna will visit the ports of Newport, Boston, Portland, Halifax, St. John’s, and Reykjavík. Guests will discover the historic cities of New England and the maritime atmosphere of the Canadian Atlantic coast. In Newport, magnificent Gilded Age mansions, a long sailing tradition, and its location on the Rhode Island coast define the cityscape. Boston is one of the most historically significant cities in the USA, combining important sites of the American Revolution with a modern metropolis. In cities steeped in tradition, such as Halifax and St. John’s, guests will gain insights into the region’s seafaring culture and the eventful history of the Canadian East Coast. Finally, the spectacular natural scenery of Iceland awaits, with its volcanic landscapes, waterfalls, and geysers. The journey concludes with a stay in the Danish capital Copenhagen, before AIDAluna arrives in Kiel on May 28, 2028.
The two routes can also be combined into a 36-day “globetrotter” trip or booked with an alternative starting or ending port of Miami.

Im Frühjahr 2028 führt die Rückreise aus dem Winterfahrtgebiet Karibik in das Sommerfahrtgebiet Nordeuropa erstmals entlang der US-Küste und durch den Golf von Mexiko nach Kiel. Zwei neue 18-tägige Reisen mit AIDAluna verbinden dabei einige der faszinierendsten Reiseziele Nordamerikas mit eindrucksvollen Naturerlebnissen und entspannten Seetagen.

Direkt anschließend nimmt AIDAluna ab 10. Mai 2028 Kurs von New York nach Kiel. Damit führt erstmals im Frühjahr eine AIDA Reise entlang der amerikanischen Ostküste und weiter nach Island über Dänemark nach Deutschland. AIDAluna besucht dabei die Häfen Newport, Boston, Portland, Halifax, St. John’s und Reykjavík. Die Gäste entdecken dabei die historischen Städte Neuenglands sowie die maritime Atmosphäre der kanadischen Atlantikküste. In Newport prägen prachtvolle Villen aus dem Gilded Age, eine lange Segeltradition und die Lage an der Küste von Rhode Island das Stadtbild. Boston zählt zu den geschichtsträchtigsten Städten der USA und verbindet bedeutende Schauplätze der amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitsbewegung mit einer modernen Metropole. In traditionsreichen Städten wie Halifax und St. John’s erhalten die Gäste Einblicke die Seefahrerkultur der Region und in die bewegte Geschichte der kanadischen Ostküste. Anschließend erwarten die Gäste die spektakulären Naturkulissen Islands mit Vulkanlandschaften, Wasserfällen und Geysiren. Den Abschluss der Reise bildet ein Aufenthalt in der dänischen Hauptstadt Kopenhagen, bevor AIDAluna am 28. Mai 2028 in Kiel einläuft.
