MIAMI – August 21, 2026 – Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has departed on its Grand South Pacific Expedition 2026 – a 77-day voyage from Fremantle (Perth), Western Australia, to Valparaiso, Chile, aboard Silver Cloud. The voyage calls at 57 destinations in 11 countries, tracing Australia’s Kimberley coast before continuing through the South Pacific toward Easter Island and South America, arriving in Valparaiso on November 4, 2026. The departure also marks the conclusion of another season of Kimberley expeditions for Silversea, capping months of wildlife encounters, cultural experiences, and Zodiac exploration along Australia’s remote northwest coast.

FROM THE KIMBERLEY TO THE MARQUESAS: A PASSAGE THROUGH THE SOUTH PACIFIC
- FREMANTLE (PERTH) TO DARWIN: The voyage opens along Western Australia’s coast – Abrolhos Islands, Cape Peron (Shark Bay), North Muiron Island, the Montebello Islands, Dampier Archipelago – before entering the Kimberley for Adele Island, the Buccaneer Archipelago, the Hunter River region, Ashmore Reef, Swift Bay and King George River, concluding in Darwin. There, guests will have the chance to explore the abundant marine life of Montgomery Reef or step ashore at Swift Bay to see the ancient Gwion Gwion rock art galleries.
- DARWIN TO LAUTOKA: 21 destinations across six countries carry the ship from Indonesia’s Raja Ampat region and Cenderawasih Bay to Vanimo, Madang and Rabaul in Papua New Guinea, on to Santa Ana in the Solomon Islands and Ambrym Island in Vanuatu, before arriving in Lautoka, Fiji. Along the way, guests can wander the limestone cliffs of Kokas, Indonesia, in search of ancient rock art, and witness Ambrym’s traditional Rom dancers, whose masked performances have been passed down through generations.
- LAUTOKA TO PAPEETE, TAHITI: From Lautoka, the ship threads through 14 destinations and four countries — Taveuni and the Ringgold Isles in Fiji, the Vava’u Group in Tonga, Rarotonga and Aitutaki in the Cook Islands — before reaching Bora Bora and Rangiroa in French Polynesia and concluding in Papeete. Guests can snorkel among vibrant reefs off Euaiki Island in Tonga, and swim alongside blacktip reef sharks and stingrays in Bora Bora’s storied lagoon.
- PAPEETE TO VALPARAISO: The voyage’s final stretch spans 12 destinations across three countries, calling at the wildly beautiful Marquesas Islands (Hiva Oa, Nuku Hiva, Fatu Hiva) and Mangareva in French Polynesia, Adamstown on Pitcairn Island, and Easter Island and Robinson Crusoe Island in Chile, before concluding in Valparaiso. By Zodiac, guests can explore Fatu Hiva’s Bay of Virgins beneath dramatic volcanic pinnacles, and on Pitcairn Island, meet descendants of the HMS Bounty mutineers in one of the world’s most remote inhabited settlements.
TWO EXCLUSIVE EVENTS: THE OUTBACK AND RAPA NUI
Silversea’s Grand Voyages provide prime cultural access through an array of bespoke events, planned exclusively for guests. During the Grand South Pacific Expedition 2026, these include:
- Northern Territories Adventure (Finniss River Lodge, Darwin, Australia): On September 6, guests will spend a day at Finniss River Lodge, a 50,000-acre working cattle station in Australia’s Northern Territory. The day includes an all-wheel-drive exploration of the property’s paperbark groves and a helicopter flight over the surrounding wetlands, escarpments and the Finniss River, concluding with a luncheon featuring regional seasonal fare.
- Toki, A Hope for the Future (Easter Island, Chile): On October 26, guests will gather at Toki Rapa Nui, a cultural center on Easter Island founded to preserve Rapa Nui heritage, for an afternoon that includes a concert by pianist Mahani Teave, founder of the Toki Music School, a visit to the moai at Tahai, and a performance of a traditional hoko warrior dance.

THE 2026 KIMBERLEY SEASON, IN REVIEW
Silver Cloud’s departure also marks the conclusion of Silversea’s 2026 Kimberley expedition season, which was comprised of 10 voyages between May 8 and September 6, calling at 25 destinations along Australia’s remote northwest coast. The season’s Zodiac cruising centered on King George Falls, Montgomery Reef, Horizontal Falls and the Hunter River region, with Raft Point returning to the itinerary after an extended absence.
Wildlife sightings were a consistent highlight throughout the season, including saltwater crocodiles and Australian snubfin dolphins along the Hunter River and Porosus Creek, turtles and abundant birdlife at Montgomery Reef, and seabirds, tiger sharks, and bottlenose dolphins at Ashmore Reef. Cultural calls at Freshwater Cove, Swift Bay and Jar Island anchored the region’s Welcome to Country ceremonies and Indigenous rock art experiences throughout the season, supported by Silversea’s expedition team.
