Spectacular Nordland trips with the newest member of the fleet
The construction of the Mein Schiff 7, which will join the fleet next year, is progressing quickly. The block with the iconic diamond on the stern of the Mein Schiff 7 was recently placed on the hull at the Meyer shipyard in Turku, Finland. Another milestone and at the same time a logistical masterpiece! Because lifting the diamond requires numerous trades, from glass experts to interior design professionals.
The diamond is just one of many block-lifts happening at the shipyard right now. The first cabins have already been used
“Once again, Meyer Werft impresses us with perfection and precision. We look forward to the further milestones that still lie ahead of us before the christening,” says Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises. After commissioning, Mein Schiff 7 will be sailing in the north of Germany and the Baltic Sea in the summer of 2024. When the newest member of the fleet then penetrates up to 100 kilometers deep inland and the ship glides through the deep blue water of the fjords between mountain slopes overgrown with greenery, the world seems to stand still for a moment. The colorful and lively hustle and bustle in the wonderfully located towns that the Mein Schiff 7 will visit on its Nordland cruises offer a loving contrast to the untouched nature.
The Mein Schiff 7 is a sister ship of the Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2, which went into service in 2018 and 2019. The trips with the latest addition to the fleet have been bookable for some time and are in high demand. Mein Schiff fans who love and are looking for something new should secure their dream cabin now, for example on a picturesque North Country trip, to experience well-being to the highest degree. Because that is exactly what the fleet growth stands for.
As the first ship in the fleet, the new building offers guests traveling alone the opportunity to stay in individual cabins. There are also some culinary innovations, such as the authentic Asia & Sushi Restaurant, where guests can immerse themselves in the world of Asian culinary delights, an exclusive Italian restaurant with high-quality Mediterranean delicacies and a traditional coffee house with coffee and pastry specialties. The sun deck on deck 6 invites you to linger and relax with selected lounge furniture and exclusive drinks.
Sustainability in focus
With the commissioning of the Mein Schiff 7 in 2024, TUI Cruises is taking another important step towards climate-neutral cruising. The ambitious climate protection plan was recently validated by SBTI. The new building is operated with lower-emission marine diesel (sulfur content: 0.1%) and is equipped with catalytic converters (nitrogen oxide reduction: around 75%) and a shore power connection. In addition, the newest Mein Schiff fleet member is being built so that she can also run on methanol, which will in future be green methanol. This makes the ship’s propulsion almost CO 2 neutral. In addition, Mein Schiff 7 will be equipped with an advanced system for waste processing. Through thermal treatment, organic waste is broken down and processed so that only clear water and a type of organic charcoal remain.
