Mein Schiff Flow, nave gemella di Mein Schiff Relax, recentemente messa in servizio, ha toccato l’acqua sotto la chiglia per la prima volta.
Another milestone for Mein Schiff Flow: TUI Cruises celebrates the floating up in Monfalcone, Italy
Hamburg/Monfalcone, May 30, 2025. The Mein Schiff Flow, the sister ship of the recently commissioned Mein Schiff Relax, has water under its keel for the first time. After the valves were opened to flood the dry dock at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, around 130 million liters of water flowed into the dock, ensuring a successful refloating. This marked an important milestone for the second newbuild of the InTUItions class of ships.
On Wednesday, Roberto Benvenuto, the shipyard’s pastor, blessed the ship with prayers and holy water – in keeping with the ancient Christian maritime tradition. Anna Russo, the shipyard’s godmother, smashed a bottle of Prosecco against the hull of the Mein Schiff Flow. This Italian tradition is performed to invoke good fortune for the ship and all those who will sail on it during the refloating process. Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises, and Cristiano Bazzara, Director of the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, celebrated this emotional moment together: “The launch of Mein Schiff Flow is a very special moment for us. Following the successful commissioning of Mein Schiff Relax in April of this year, we are delighted to soon be able to present its sister ship to our guests. As early as next summer, guests will be able to experience the lightness of Mein Schiff Flow,” said Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises. Because that’s what Mein Schiff Flow stands for: leaving the hustle and bustle of everyday life far behind and rediscovering inner lightness and carefreeness on an incomparable journey – this is what Mein Schiff Flow invites you to do from summer 2026.
