Sponsorship 2023: TUI Cruises donates to “Crack the Cancer”
As part of the sponsorship, TUI Cruises collected 66,000 euros.
Feb 9, 2024 – Every year, TUI Cruises collects donations for a real matter of the heart: the sponsorship project. Donations were also diligently collected for this year’s project through various campaigns such as an internal raffle or the annual raffle on board the Mein Schiff fleet. The result: The check amounted to 66,000 euros for the Hamburg association “Knack den Krebs”.With the TUI Cruises sponsorship, the shipping company supports a social project every year that is chosen by the employees. In 2023 it was the Children’s Cancer Center Hamburg eV support group. For 49 years, the support group has been supporting the Clinic for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), or the Hamburg Children’s Cancer Center for short. The non-profit association was founded in 1975 by affected parents of children with cancer. The donated funds will be used to achieve optimal patient care, to provide psychosocial support for affected families and to support the Hamburg Children’s Cancer Center Research Institute. Under the slogan “Crack the cancer”, the support group is raising public awareness of the issue of cancer in children.Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises, presented the check for 66,000 euros to Dr. Bublitz, managing director of the Children’s Cancer Center Hamburg Association.“Every year the TUI Cruises workforce collects donations for a project that is truly close to their hearts. We always want TUI Cruises to have a hand’s breadth of water under its keel,” says Dr. Bublitz, Managing Director of the Children’s Cancer Center Hamburg eV Association.Every year, the TUI Cruises sponsorship supports a project in the areas of social commitment or the environment, which is proposed and chosen by employees. The new sponsorship project has also already been decided: this year, the employees of the Hamburg shipping company are collecting for the Friends for Life eV association from Berlin.
